New Year’s Resolutions

It comes to this time of year and the first thing people seem to ask is “What are your New Year’s resolutions?”. Life doesn’t work like that for me. I know plenty of the world like to use the calendar dates to start again as it were. That somehow seems like an excuse to me. It’s just a psychological thing. A way of saying, next year I will be better. Surely what makes us human is a constant realisation that we can better ourselves. We can achieve the impossible. Whether it’s New Year or any other time of the year you know if you’re not where you want to be in your life. So don’t sit back and be content with average. Get up and change things. If you’re the happiest you’ve ever been, do everything you can to increase that happiness. You are only limited by yourself. Push yourself to be the best you can be.

Paloma Faith tweeted this, and although I’m not a big fan, she’s got it spot on.

New Year

This is your life. No-one else’s.
