About
The Wonders of HTML5
Just recently I was looking at an online app which has basically a fancy piece of data capture. The app was entirely built in Flash. The first thing I thought was that it felt old. It was slow, and had spinning loading screens every two seconds. It was awful. This person was trying to get us to use their service too. Simple answer to that. No.
Next time someone like that sends me a link to a poorly made website I will send them a simple email in return. It will contain a link to Cut the Rope’s HTML5 version of the game, or one of Google’s many amazing HTML5 creations. With the line, “come back to me when you can impress me”.
Yes, Google and Cut the Rope’s creators Zeptolab are way ahead of many companies right now, but that’s what they are competing with. Users are starting to expect these kind of standards online. Move with the times…
Designed to help promote Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) and the beauty of the Web, a new desktop HTML5 version of the hugely popular Cut the Rope game is now available online for free, born out of a partnership between Microsoft and the game’s creators ZeptoLab.
